A presentation that promotes a product in which the presenter has financial interest (or is representing a company that has a financial interest) must be proposed as an exhibitor workshop. In order to propose an exhibitor workshop, the company must be exhibiting at the Conference.

A 45 minute presentation that actively engages everyone in the audience in a hands-on experience with materials.
Demonstration
A 45 minute presentation where presenter demonstrates a series of experiments or a scientific phenomenon.
Lecture/Discussion - 25 Minute Half Session
A 25 minute opportunity to share an innovative teaching idea or present the results of research.
Lecture/Discussion - 45 Minute Full Session
A 45 minute opportunity to share an innovative teaching idea or present the results of research.
Panel
A 45 minute interactive session by two or more speakers on a topic of general or specific interest. Includes a question-and-answer period.
Poster Presentation
A display of an activity, laboratory project, or research on 4' by 6' horizontal poster by a student, teacher or class. Posters will be displayed during the entire Conference. Poster presenters should be available to answer questions during a one-hour poster session.

Science Standards
In an effort to help workshop attendees make choices about what sessions to attend we are asking you to decide which standards you are going to
address. For example, a workshop about classifying groups of elements
based on similar properties would address science content standard
8.3.11. If the focus were more about how to teach using multiple
teaching approaches, the presenter could refer to INTASC standard 4.1.
If the focus was on using a variety of informal and formal assessments
to make decisions about student progress, then the workshop would best
fit with INTASC standard 8.2. Now it's your turn. Be sure to specify
whether it is a science or INTASC standard.

Important information for presenters
|
AV Equipment Provided:
HASTI will provide an LCD or overhead projector and DVD or VCR and monitor for all sessions. Confirmed presenters will receive an audiovisual request form with their confirmation letter. Any other equipment (such as computers or extra audiovisual) is the responsibility of the presenter and will be at the presenter's expense. Please contact Johnny Moore, 317.780.3951, with Markey's Audio Visual for your additional audio/visual needs.
Hazardous Materials:
You will provide a fire extinguisher if you use flammable materials. You understand HASTI is not responsible for hazardous materials. You will provide a Material Safety Data Sheet for all hazardous materials.
